Thermometry, Radiometry, and Photometry Department

The Thermometry, Radiometry, and Photometry Department is an organizational unit of the Slovak Metrology Institute (SMÚ). Its primary mission includes research and maintenance of national and other standards and the practical application of these quantities.

Temperature

  • Calibration of standard resistance thermometers at fixed points (Ag, Al, Zn, Cn, In, Ga, TBV, Hg).
  • Calibration of standard resistance thermometers using comparative methods.
  • Calibration of thermoelectric sensors at fixed points (Pd, Au, Ag, Al, Zn, Sn).
  • Calibration of thermoelectric sensors using comparative methods.
  • Calibration of glass thermometers (standard and laboratory) using comparative methods.
  • Calibration of thermometers with evaluation units using comparative methods.
  • Calibration of pyrometers.
  • Determination of emissivity for infrared pyrometer calibration targets.
  • Calibration of thermal fields in baths, furnaces, and ovens.
  • Calibration of reference and working temperature measuring instruments.
  • Verification of designated measuring instruments for temperature (resistance thermometers, temperature transmitters, heat meters, etc.).

Photometry and Radiometry

  • Verification and calibration of lux meters.
  • Calibration of photometric lamps for luminous intensity, luminous flux, and spectral composition temperature.
  • Characterization of other light sources.
  • Calibration of spectrophotometers in various color spaces.
  • Calibration of gloss meters in configurations of 20°, 60°, and 85°.
  • Calibration of densitometers and optical transmittance standards.
  • Calibration of optical filters.
  • Calibration of light booths.
  • Calibration of spectroradiometers for spectral responsivity and sensitivity.
  • Calibration of UV meters, UV integrators, solar meters, and optical power meters.
  • Measurement of spectral transmittance and absorbance.
  • Measurement of detector linearity in UV, VIS, and IR radiation.
