On 9 June 2025, during the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum, attended by the Prime Ministers of Slovakia and Uzbekistan, the Slovak Institute of Metrology (SMU) and the Uzbek National Institute of Metrology (UzNIM) concluded a bilateral agreement on metrological cooperation.

The agreement marks the beginning of a joint strategic project focused on establishing a laboratory for thermodynamic temperature measurement within Uzbekistan’s Quantum Metrology Centre. Signed by the legal representatives of both national metrology institutes, the agreement lays
a solid foundation for long-term cooperation in research and development.

This initiative represents a significant step forward in the field of thermodynamic temperature metrology, contributing to technological progress in line with the current definition of the kelvin,
