37th COOMET Committee Meeting Under Uzbek Chairmanship

The 37th meeting of the COOMET Committee is being held in Yerevan, Armenia on 29–30 May 2025 under the Uzbek Chairmanship with Participation of Representatives from the Slovak Institute of Metrology (SMU).

The meeting of delegates from COOMET member countries is taking place with the participation of representatives from international metrology institutions, including the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) and the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML). The Director of BIPM is also present at the event.

One of the main topics of the meeting is a discussion on the planned reorganization of COOMET, aimed at increasing the efficiency of the organization’s operations and strengthening regional metrological cooperation.

During the meeting, the Slovak Institute of Metrology (SMU) and the National Metrology Institute of Kazakhstan, KazStandart, signed a bilateral Cooperation Agreement focused on metrology.  The agreement is focused on enhancing mutual cooperation, particularly through the exchange of technical information, the provision of professional training, capacity building, and the implementation of interlaboratory comparisons.

SMU expresses its full support for the Uzbek COOMET chairmanship and confidence that its leadership will contribute to the successful advancement of metrological cooperation.
